In my work I aim to compose a story for others to discern. Most of my art does not have innate meaning but instead is meant to take on the narrative that the viewer seeks. My palette is unpredictable and evolving but most work is composed in acrylic or watercolor paint. Having a distinct brush stroke has given my work identity and the use of texture provides movement, depth and intensity. Compositional balance is something I strive for in each of my pieces whether that is with color placement or structure. Layering is also something that I find hold my process together.

Inspiration comes from the calm and peace that I find on my travels and outdoor adventures. My goal is to portray those emotions in every piece that I create. As a primarily self-taught artist my style and techniques are constantly evolving.

After graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in Economics, Britt has been working primarily with boutique IT firms as a Software Engineer and Consultant out of Atlanta, Georgia.

She has always had the need for a creative outlet and in 2016 she began a more visible creative journey after starting an Instagram page to share her art.  Aside from a few art classes in high school, she is self-taught and does not like to be confined to boundaries (which also tends to appear in other areas of her life).

When she isn't working at a client site or creating art she travels and is no stranger to a solo road trip or two. In August, 2018 she completed her first travel goal to visit all 50 states.  Her passion for seeing National Parks is also a huge part of her life. Through her art she hopes to bring the sense of calm and solitude that she feels in her travels.

What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter - a soothing, calming influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue.
